the age of 50, but today's boomers have "been there, done that."
Toronto's Joanne Nisker is one of them. At age 51, she's already
travelled to Thailand, South America and Hong Kong. Last year she was
in East Africa, and next year she's off to Israel.
A recent national survey of Canadian adults indicate that Nisker is
not alone. A "sense of adventure" was rated by boomers as one of the
top motivating factors for the travel choices they make.
"They want something more exotic," says Dr. Jay Keystone, a travel
medicine specialist and professor of medicine at the University of
Toronto.
"Going the distance" is part of many boomers' travel strategies as
they plan safaris, explore rainforests, seek out penguins, and
elephant trek in Thailand..
